Favorite YouTube Knitting Channels to catch up with…
If you haven’t found Fruity Knitting on YouTube, you might want to. I’ll feature most of my knitting favorites in this blog, eventually. Sometimes that will be in the form of lists of YouTube channels, or blogs. or books. Sometimes it will be a single entry that focuses on one special resource. I will of course also share some of my own knitting. Today I’m happy to steer you toward this mother-daughter team, who have recently featured some yarn producers and knitters in and around Prince Edward Island.
Fruity Knitting
In their latest episode, 126, Andrea of Fruity Knitting shows us the Wild Apple pullover she currently has under construction — nearly finished! It’s so beautiful. The Wild Apple is a Bohus Stickning design by Kerstin Olsson. (Fruity Knitting featured Bohus Stickning in another recent episode.) There’s also a gorgeous hat that her daughter Madeleine made, Lake Reed by Asita Krebs, in a favorite color of mine, a slate blue called Stanley, from the Rowan Pebble Island collection. I don’t wear hats much, living in Southern California, but I do sometimes knit them for others, and this pattern intrigues me. Maybe I should own at least one hat, just in case…
That’s just the beginning of this episode, which includes visits to yarn artisans and mills, and a glimpse of Prince Edward Island including the Anne of Green Gables Museum, and some adorable alpacas. I haven’t even made it yet to the part of the video with the drone footage and interviews. I sometimes break up my viewing of longer episodes on YouTube, especially from my favorite channels like this one, because there’s so much to see, and I don’t want to miss anything. I take time to savor each new video.
This is a top favorite channel of mine. Hats off to this mother and daughter team. Their program notes on this episode can be found on their blog in a post titled, EPISODE – 126 – PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND & SALTWATER MITTENS – FRUITY KNITTING.
